Agricultural Science is a senior cycle subject on offer to students here in Loreto College, Cavan. Topics covered in this subject include:

Throughout their study of Agricultural Science students carry out a range of experiments based on the topics listed above. Assessment of this subject at Leaving Certificate comprises of two components for both higher and ordinary level:
- A terminal exam worth 75%
- A practical project worth 25%
Students will work on their Agricultural Science project throughout fifth and sixth year, during which time they should gain practical farm experience either on their own farm or on an “adopted” farm. Experiment reports also contribute marks towards the practical project. The practical work will be assessed in school by an external examiner, who interviews a random selection of students, in May of sixth year.
